The Linguaskill Test is used to accurately identify the correct course level for you. Once you've enrolled, your test results confirm whether B1, B1+, B2, or C1 is the best fit — so you start learning at exactly the right level from day one.

The Linguaskill Test through Virtual English is available exclusively to students enrolled in our B1–C1 Cambridge EMPOWER courses. To access the test, enrolment in one of those courses is required.

The test evaluates all four core English skills — reading, listening, writing, and speaking — using adaptive AI technology that adjusts its difficulty based on your responses. Results are reported on the CEFR scale (A1–C1).

You'll sit the Linguaskill Test after completing your enrolment. To allow time for orientation and the preparation and delivery of your learning materials, enrolment must be finalised at least 30 days before your course start date.

Your official Cambridge Linguaskill certificate is delivered within 3–5 days of completing the test.

Both tests measure English proficiency on the CEFR scale and are widely recognised by universities and institutions.
