Joining Virtual English is straightforward. Here's what to expect from waitlist to first class.

2️⃣ We'll Contact You First


When a new intake is confirmed for your level, you'll receive an email with enrolment details before we announce to the public. Waitlisted students get priority access.

3️⃣ Confirm Your Place


Review the course dates, complete enrolment, and get ready to start. Places are allocated in order of waitlist interest, so joining early matters.

No payment is required to join the waitlist. You are simply registering your interest.

Which Level Is Right for You?

Our courses follow the Cambridge EMPOWER framework, the internationally recognised English learning standard used in universities and institutions worldwide. Select the level that best reflects your current ability.

A1 — Beginner

You're new to English or have very limited experience. You can introduce yourself and understand simple, familiar words and phrases in everyday situations.

A2 — Elementary

You can communicate in simple, routine tasks and understand frequently used expressions related to everyday life, shopping, work and local information.

B1 — Intermediate

You can handle most situations that arise while travelling, describe experiences and events, and express opinions on familiar topics with reasonable fluency.

B1+ — Upper Intermediate

You're consolidating your intermediate skills and building the confidence and fluency needed for more complex communication in professional and social settings.

B2 — Upper Intermediate

You can interact with native speakers with a degree of fluency and spontaneity, and produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects.

C1 — Advanced

You can express ideas fluently and spontaneously for professional and academic purposes, with precise and well-structured communication.

Study Expectations (hours per week)

Each level runs for one academic term. Consistent attendance is important, we recommend joining only if you can commit to the full intake Courses are designed to fit around adult schedules while supporting steady progress.

Study time may vary slightly depending on level and learner experience. 

Recommended study time: approximately 8–12 hours per week plus 1–2 hours of independent study and homework

A mix of guided lessons, practice activities, and independent study. Classes are small and interactive.

How long is the waitlist?

Wait times vary depending on the level and time of year. Some levels open quickly; others may take longer. We always give waitlisted students first access when a new intake is confirmed, so joining early is worthwhile.

No. Joining the waitlist is completely free and there is no obligation to enrol. You are simply registering your interest.

What if I miss the enrolment window?

If you don't respond to the enrolment email in time, your spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist. You'll remain on the list automatically for the following intake.

How do classes run?

All classes are delivered live online via Cambridge One. Class times are confirmed when a new intake is scheduled — full details are included in your enrolment email.

What if I need to defer to a later intake?

Simply reply to your enrolment email and let us know. We'll carry your interest forward to the next available intake for your level.

Do I need any special equipment?

You'll need a reliable internet connection, a device with a working camera and microphone, and access to Cambridge One (which we'll set up for you upon enrolment).
